Fuel prices in Iowa were down across the board over the past week, according to the Iowa Department of Agriculture and AAA-Iowa. As of Wednesday, Nov. 30, the price of regular unleaded gasoline averaged $3.22 per gallon, a 16-cent drop from last week and only eight cents higher than one year ago. The national average plunged 14 cents to $3.50 per gallon as of Wednesday. Retail diesel prices in Iowa were down 13 cents on the week to an average of $4.85 per gallon, compared to $3.42 one year ago. The national average for diesel remained over $5 per gallon at $5.18. Wholesale ethanol and propane prices remained steady at $2.16 and $1.93 per gallon, respectively. Home heating oil prices dipped 37 cents to $4.06 per gallon. Natural gas was the only fuel type to record an increase with a 28-cent jump at the Henry Hub reporting site to $6.93 per MMBtu.
