After the long Thanksgiving holiday weekend, the Carroll County Board of Supervisors meeting includes public hearings and department expansion discussions. County officials convene at 9 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 28 in the courthouse meeting room. They’ll open with a review and approval of the 2022 report from the county’s weed commissioner before considering approval of plats, county payables, and upcoming fireworks permit for Central Church of Carroll. Supervisors will then set the public hearing date for the proposed sale of the Breda Depot to a private buyer interested in converting the aging facility into a railroad museum and bike rental facility. At 9:30 a.m., the board moves into a public hearing on a request for road upgrades to a segment of 340th Street. This is followed by a Fiscal Year (FY) 2024 funding request from the Elderbridge Agency on Aging, which had been scheduled for the previous week. The meeting concludes with a discussion on job openings within the county’s IT department and consideration of a recommendation from the employee health insurance and benefits committee for future programs. Monday’s meeting is open to the public and will also be live-streamed via the county’s YouTube channel. A copy of the full agenda can be found included below.
