Carroll County ISU Extension Celebrates National 4-H Week

This week is National 4-H Week, and clubs throughout the country are celebrating the clover and green. The program in Iowa is administered through the local Iowa State University (ISU) Extension and Outreach offices. Carroll County Youth Coordinator Caylin Brommel says the 120-year-old 4-H organization has impacted millions of Americans throughout its history.

4-H originally began as a way to educate rural youth about the skills they would need around the house and farm, but it has grown to include kids from all backgrounds. Brommel says 4-H’s mission is just as relevant today as it was in 1902.

Brommel adds clubs in Carroll County are celebrating National 4-H Week all week long.

Zipp’s pizza truck will be in the Carroll County Extension Office’s parking lot from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday. Brommel says kids or parents interested in getting involved in their local 4-H club can reach out to her directly at the Extension Office by calling 712-792-2364.
