Carroll American Legion Accepting Donations Today For Improvements At Legion Building On Heires Ave.

The Carroll American Legion is hosting their latest fundraiser today (Friday) with proceeds from this endeavor going back to make physical improvements to their facility on Heires Avenue on the west side of town. From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., American Legion members will be posted outside Wendl’s Weapons and Indoor Range on U.S. Highway 30 East and accepting donations. Legion member, RT Schreck, explains the issues at their building and what is needed to fix them.

Schreck says they are blessed to have several local contractors volunteer to donate their time and skills to the repairs, but the Carroll American Legion will still need to foot the bill for materials. While the focus is primarily on the front steps and walkway, he notes they have other improvements they’d also like to see completed.

Schreck adds the Carroll American Legion and other veteran groups in the area are so lucky to have a tremendously high level of support from local residents. He says it means so much to all the Carroll legionnaires.

All donations to the Carroll American Legion’s fundraiser today (Friday) will receive a free day pass to the indoor range at Wendl’s Weapons. The event runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in their parking lot at 810 U.S. Highway 30 East.
