In August, the Carroll Public Library Board of Trustees announced that Wendy Johnson would take over as the new Carroll Library Director. Johnson, a Scranton native, started her new position on Tuesday, September 6. Johnson says this first week has been going smoothly.
Before coming to Carroll, Johnson was the Scranton Library Director for the last four years. Johnson says she has been talking to the Friends of the Library, and they just recently had their first meeting.
Johnson adds she has not looked into the library’s future yet but has been meeting with individuals who use the library.
Johnson graduated from the University of Iowa in 2002. Under her direction, the Scranton Library saw growth in nearly all areas, such as circulation, program participation, community engagement, and more. Johnson says she is excited to meet more people and show what the Carroll Public Library has to offer.
