Carroll City Council Approves Plans, Specifications, Form Of Contract, And Estimated Cost For Proposed Work At Wastewater Treatment Plant

During their meeting earlier this week, the Carroll City Council passed a resolution approving the plans, specifications, form of contract, and estimated cost for proposed work at the city’s wastewater treatment facility. Public Works Director Randy Krauel says the existing piping in the plant’s vertical loop reactor is no longer functioning as intended and needs to be replaced.

Krauel says the approximately $267,000 project will significantly improve efficiency at the site. The existing piping was installed around 20 years ago, and previous repairs have proven unsuccessful. City officials did not receive any comments from the public during the hearing held on Monday evening. Krauel says they are ready to move forward quickly with the project and anticipate accepting bids by the end of next month.

Krauel estimates full project completion by May 30 of next year. The council voted unanimously during Monday’s meeting to move forward with the vertical loop piping replacement project.
