Carroll County Supervisors Approve Templeton’s Request For Ambulance Service Funding

The Carroll County Board of Supervisors has approved a request from the City of Templeton to provide financial assistance for maintaining an ambulance crew within the community. According to Ambulance Director Jamie Wuebker, Coon Rapids, Breda, and Manning, who all house a rig for the county, each receives $21,600 per year to offset some of the costs of doing so. Wuebker says Templeton is making a similar request, just a much smaller amount.

Wuebker adds that the Templeton crew is definitely an asset to the county, especially considering the relatively high number of calls they respond to annually.

Under the proposed arrangement, the county would provide up to $6,000 per year to the City of Templeton for ambulance-related expenses. District 5 Supervisor, Rich Ruggles, notes the city will have the final say on how the funds are used.

The board unanimously approved a motion from Ruggles to approve the Templeton Ambulance Services’ request for $6,000 per year. With the addition of Templeton, Carroll County now pays out $70,800 annually to surrounding communities to assist in providing emergency medical services.
