Recovery Center At MRHC To Begin Offering Prime For Life OWI Courses

The Recovery Center at Manning Regional Healthcare Center (MRHC) will soon begin offering courses for Iowans convicted of operating motor vehicles while under the influence of alcohol or drugs. The Prime for Life classes, which the Iowa DOT requires for individuals convicted of an OWI, will be held the third weekend of every month on Friday and Saturday starting in July. Each course will help participants understand how alcohol and drug-related problems develop, how to identify and prevent those problems, and why addicts need support. Recovery Center Director Taya Vonnahme says, “We are always looking to expand services we offer in our local community and surrounding areas. We are seeing a high need for this class and want to ensure our community’s needs are being met. Our instructors are not only certified in Prime for Life but are also licensed addiction counselors who teach in a manner that is conducive for anyone striving for sobriety.” The first course is scheduled for July 15 and 16. Contact the Recovery Center at MRHC by calling 712-655-2300 to register for one of the upcoming classes.
