CCSD Board Of Education Is In The Early Stages Of A New Driveway Project At the High School

At Monday’s meeting, the Carroll Community School District (CCSD) Board of Education held a public hearing to let community members know they are in the early stages of reconstructing one of the driveways at the high school. Superintendent, Dr. Casey Berlau, says last year, they did a study for the middle school and high school, and it showed traffic would flow better on Grant Road if they reconstructed the south drive at the high school.

The project is still in the very early stage of development. Berlau adds that they changed up dismissal times this year to see if it would help with traffic flow.

Berlau states that if the board does go forward with the project, another hope is it will reduce the number of accidents at the high school. The reconstruction would be funded through Physical Plant and Equipment Levey (PPEL) funds or Secure and Advanced Vision for Education (SAVE) funds.

Berlau says they are so early in the prosses that they do not have any hard numbers on how much the project will cost. He adds the next step is to put the bid documents together and get them out for bid. The school board is set to meet again for a work session on Monday, June 6.
