Carroll County Supervisors Hope To Reach Resolution For Carroll County Jail Change Orders At Monday’s Meeting

The Carroll County Board of Supervisors is hoping to reach a resolution concerning a dispute between county officials, the architectural firm, and general contractor over necessary change orders that were completed at the Carroll County jail. During their meeting last week, the board indicated they were not comfortable moving forward with a proposal from the firm, Shive-Hattery, that would have them cover $5,000 of a more than $20,000 cost increase due to an issue with the air conditioning design for the jail’s IT room. Supervisors have been working with the firm and the general contractor, Badding Construction, to determine which party would be financially responsible for the alleged oversight. Other items on the agenda for the Monday, May 9 meeting include approval of an employment agreement for the County Engineer, Zac Andersen, manure management annual updates, and discussion with SEH on the proposed renovations and HVAC improvements at the courthouse. Monday’s meeting begins at 9 a.m. in the supervisors’ meeting room and is open to the public. It will also be live-streamed via the county’s YouTube channel. The full agenda can be found included below.
