U.S. Senator Chuck Grassley will meet with other lawmakers as they have a hearing scheduled for tomorrow (Tuesday) on the Cattle Transparency Act. Grassley goes in-depth about who they are meeting with.
Lawmakers are trying to update the bill, which requires the Secretary of Agriculture to establish five to seven regions encompassing the entire continental U.S. and then establish minimum levels of fed cattle purchases made through approved pricing mechanisms. Grassley explains what the changed bill will do.
Grassley adds this bill is trying to help the independent producers get a fair price on cattle.
