Motorists are urged to use caution when traveling today (Saturday), especially after a semi-tractor trailer was blown over on Iowa Highway near 141 just before noon. Several local fire departments, the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office, and Carroll County Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene on a report a semi-tractor trailer lost control due to a strong wind gust. The cab tipped onto its passenger side, temporarily blocking traffic, while the trailer was pushed into the ditch. The driver was not seriously injured, but first responders needed mechanical extraction tools to get him out of the vehicle. Western Iowa is under a high-wind advisory until 7 p.m. this evening with wind gusts up to 60 mph or higher possible.
