Carroll City Council To Choose Contractor For Summer Road Rehabilitation At Monday’s Meeting

The Carroll City Council is scheduled to convene Monday, and again, it appears to be light agenda for city leaders. The proceedings begin at 5:15 p.m. at City Hall with a discussion on the approval of an Iowa DOT form outlining the work to be completed on city property as part of the Sauk Rail Trail rehabilitation project between Swan Lake State Park and Maple River. Officials will also consider a resolution declaring pandemic-related public sector revenue losses to allow federal relief funds to supplement the General Fund. City Manager, Mike Pogge-Weaver, says the council is also slated to select a contractor for proposed street restoration work that is scheduled for this summer.

He adds the council will review agreements from an engineering firm, Veenstra & Kimm, Inc., to evaluate equipment at the city’s wastewater treatment facility and propose remedies if necessary.

The only other items on Monday’s agenda are lease agreements with Kuemper Catholic Schools for the use of the Merchants Park concession stand and softball diamond for the upcoming baseball and softballs seasons, a brief review of the Fiscal Year (FY) 2020-21 financial statement audit completed by Feldmann & Company CPAs, P.C., and additional discussion on the city’s involvement in additional sidewalk construction in the Pleasant Ridge and Timberline neighborhoods. The Monday, April 15 meeting begins at 5:15 p.m. at Carroll City Hall. It will also be live-streamed via the city’s YouTube page. The full agenda along with detail on how to attend remotely can be found included with this story on our website.
