The Sac City Council approved hiring a new police officer at their meeting on Tuesday. A former East Sac graduate, Lane Snyder, started with the police force on Friday. The hiring of Snyder wasn’t the only thing on the council’s agenda at Tuesday’s meeting they also discussed the sale of city property. Lawrence says this is through the housing program the councils have started.
Only one individual showed interest, and the council held a public hearing to transfer the property over so they could start the construction of a new single-family home. The city council met in the City Chambers at Sac City Municipal Utility, and their next meeting is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 12.
