Catholics in the Sioux City Diocese are encouraged to join Pope Francis and Bishop R. Walker Nickless at the end of the week in a prayer for peace in Ukraine. At 11 a.m. on Friday, March 25, which is 5 p.m. in Vatican City, the pope will begin the prayer and be joined by Catholics around the globe. Bishop Nickless invites the public to attend the Friday morning service at the Cathedral of the Epiphany in Sioux City. He says, “Join me as I pray to consecrate Russia and Ukraine to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, as is requested by the Holy Father.” Catholics living outside of Sioux City are asked to contact their local parish for consecration prayers in their area.
