The Lake City City Council is still in the process of finalizing their Fiscal Year 2023 (FY23) budget. City Administrator, Eric Wood, says they only have one or two projects in this year’s budget.
Wood added that the projects they will be working on are some maintenance type issues.
There will be a small budget workshop on Monday before the city councils regular meeting for some new members, so they can work though the budget processes. Wood says a majority of the FY23 budgets goes to the salaries of the employees in Lake City, and they are looking at a property tax increase.
FY23 runs from July 1, 2022 through June 30, 2023. City budgets are due to the Iowa Department of Management by March 31.
