No injuries were reported in either of the two accidents the Guthrie County Sheriff’s Office responded to over the weekend. The first crash occurred at approximately 12:07 a.m. on Interstate 80 near Stuart Saturday morning. Their initial investigation determined 22-year-old Mohamed Nour of Iowa City was traveling eastbound in a 2004 Toyota Camry when he lost control due to slick road conditions. The Camry entered the median and struck a cable barrier, which prevented the sedan from entering the westbound lanes. Damage to the Toyota was estimated at $1,000. The second accident occurred at approximately 4:39 p.m. Sunday on Wagon Road south of Panora. A 2003 Ford Expedition, driven by 37-year-old Tiffany Ranae Miller of Stuart, was traveling northbound when she lost control while passing a slow-moving trailer due to ice on the roadway. The Ford then entered the east ditch, collided with a small tree and came to rest against a field fence. Damage to the Miller vehicle was estimated at $3,500 and $500 to the fence. No citations were issued in either incident.
