Jefferson Man Accused Of Shooting At Law Enforcement During Dec. 29 Chase Faces Additional Charges

Additional charges have been filed against a Jefferson man accused of shooting at law enforcement during a Dec. 29 pursuit in Adair County. The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI) announced yesterday (Thursday) 58-year-old Charles Bradshaw II will face attempted murder of a peace officer, a class B felony, intimidation with a dangerous weapon, a class C felony, and assault on a peace officer, a class D felony. Authorities say an Adair County Sheriff’s Office Deputy discharged his service weapon after Bradshaw used his vehicle to strike two patrol cars and fired at least one shot at law enforcement. He sustained serious but not life threating injuries to both arms in the exchange. Bradshaw was already charged with felony eluding, possession of a firearm by a felon, and possession of methamphetamine in connection to the Dec. 29 chase that began at approximately 8:30 p.m. in Stuart. As of Friday, Bradshaw remained in custody at the Adair County jail.
