DNR Confirms Four Cases Of Poaching In Lanesboro Area And Asks For Public’s Help

The local Conservation Officer with the Iowa Department of Natural Resources (DNR), Aron Arthur, confirmed this (Wednesday) morning they are investigation four poaching incidents in the Lanesboro area. The deer have all been bucks and some have been left to lay and others have had their heads removed. In one instance, Arthur says the head was found hidden in a tree.

Arthur says they are grateful to the hunters and landowners who are reporting these findings.

Arthur says the DNR relies on the assistance of those who have information about these poaching incidents to help put a stop to them as well as to hold the parties responsible.

Poaching reports can be submitted anonymously on the DNR’s website at www.programs.iowandnr.gov/tip, by calling the Tip Hotline at 800-532-2020 or by contacting Arthur directly at 515-370-0422. Arthur has been a conservation officer with the DNR for the past 15 years, having worked in Black Hawk and Polk Counties before relocating to this region in January of last year.
