The Jefferson Police Department has cited a teenage driver after receiving reports of a vehicle in the ditch at South Grimmell and West Russell Streets. The call came in at approximately 5:49 p.m. Monday, but the driver had removed the vehicle from the ditch and left the scene. Witnesses told authorities that the 15-year-old male was driving erratically when the vehicle left the roadway and they identified the driver and vehicle involved. An officer made contact with the teenager, who admitted he was the driver. He was cited for failure to have a valid driver’s license, careless driving and failure to maintain control.
