Plans are well underway for a decade’s old holiday celebration in Manning, Weihnachtsfest. Local businesses will be decorating their windows and the arrival of the season’s most recognizable figure, Santa Claus, is scheduled to take place at 5:45 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 26. Santa will lead a lighted parade down the brick Main Street at 6 p.m. starting from the back parking lot at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Organizers are looking for more entries into the parade and those interested in participating or who have questions can contact any of the members of the Manning Promotions Committee: Ashley Moore, Lisa Kerkhoff, Jamie England, Sydney Macumber and Toni Muhlbauer. Other plans for that evening include photos with Santa, hayrack and horse drawn carriage rides, cookie decorating and more.
