SCC Schedules School Board Candidate Forum For Oct. 19

Three seats on the South Central Calhoun (SCC) Community School District are on the Nov. 2 ballot, and district officials are hosting a forum later this month to give voters the chance to hear directly from the candidates. The board consists of seven directors: three from each district and one at-large position. Current District 1 Director, Kari Musselman is not running for reelection and neither is District 2 Director, Darcy Lightner. Ryan Hammen, Kevin Machovec and Brandon Wilson, all of Rockwell City, have filed for the District 1 position, and Neal Finley and Michelle Schwartz, both of Lake City, and Keaton Hildreth of Lohrville, are running in District 2. Incumbent, Nick Spencer of Rockwell City, is the only individual to file for the at-large spot. The forum begins at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 19 at the middle school auditorium in Rockwell City. Each candidate will have the opportunity to explain their motivations for running, and attendees will have the opportunity to have their questions answered.
