Carroll County Public Health Provides Recommendations For Pfizer Boosters Prior To Next Vaccination Clinic

Carroll County Public Health is making recommendations on booster shots of the Pfizer-BioNTech’s COVID-19 vaccine prior to their next scheduled vaccination clinic on Friday, Oct. 1. The clinic will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at their offices, located on the second floor of the St. Anthony Regional Hospital across from the cafeteria. New patients can receive their first or second dose of Moderna, Pfizer or Johnson and Johnson vaccines and booster doses of the Pfizer vaccine will be done by appointment only on that date. Those eligible for the boost dose must be six months out from their primary series and includes: residents 65 and older and residents of long-term care settings; those who are 50 to 64 years old with underlying medical conditions; residents 18 to 49 years old with underlying medical conditions; and those 18 to 64 who are at increased risk for COVID-19 exposure and transmission because of occupational or institutional settings. Again, these are ONLY for those who originally received two-doses of the Pfizer vaccine. Boosters may be recommended in the future for other vaccines, but are not currently being offered. Masks will be required for Friday’s clinic. Appointments are preferred and can be made by calling 712-794-5408.
