Earlier this spring, the Carroll County Board of Supervisors accepted a $2,838,135.69 bid from Norris Asphalt and Paving of Ottumwa to widen and resurface 10.1 miles of Olympic Avenue (N33) south from the east side of Carroll through Willey and Dedham. This week, County Engineer, Zac Andersen, notified the board of an anticipated window for work to begin.
He believes they will get started with the milling on July 7 or July 8, but no firm date has yet been provided. Andersen outlines his expectations on the process.
The road, however, will not be closed.
Andersen says drivers can expect delays, even though the road will remain open for the estimated five to six weeks it will take to complete the total project.
