Kuemper had 12 hits and 11 RBI in the game 1 win as they dominated the game in every facet. The Knights scored in five of the six innings they batted. Shenandoah struck in the top 1st inning but Kuemper answered with a run. Shenandoah scored again in the 3rd but Kuemper again had the answer in the bottom half scoring twice. They never looked back after that scoring 5-runs in the 4th inning to blow it open. Austin Sibenaller had a two run single in the 4th and Logan Sibenaller and Trevor Rial also drove in a run. Sibenaller with a double. Tigges added a 2-run triple in the 5th.

Austin Tigges had a nearly perfect game 1 with 4 hits, a double, triple and 5 RBI along with scoring 3-runs. Logan Sibenaller added a pair of hits, a double, 2 RBI and 4 runs scored. Trevor Rial added 2 hits and 2 RBI. Blake Pottebaum added a double, RBI and scored twice. Michael Pottebaum earned the win with 5 innings of work. He allowed 5 hits and 1 earned run.

Kuemper used a 7-run 6th inning to pull away from Shenandoah to sweep the doubleheader. Max Irlmeier jump started the offense with a double that drove in Trevor Rial after Luke Hicks scored on an error. Cooper Pottebaum singled to drive in Irlmeier and Kuemper was off and running in the 6th. After a walk to Logan Sibenaller and scored on back to back singles by Blake Pottebaum (RBI) and Austin Tigges. Blake Pottebaum and Tigges scored on Shenandoah errors.

Austin Tigges capped a brilliant night at the plate with 3 more hits and scored twice. Max Irlmeier had 2 hits, Logan Sibenaller, Blake Pottebaum scored twice. The Knights out hit Shenandoah 9-4.

The Knights improve to 12-4 overall and 10-3 in the Hawkeye 10 Conference. They travel to Atlantic on Tuesday.

Carroll had some chances against one of the best pitchers in the Raccoon River Conference leaving 6 guys on base but they weren’t able to get the hit with runners on and finished with 4 hits against Joe Husek. North Polk led 1-0 heading into the bottom 4th when they scored 3 times to make it 4-0. The Comets added 4 more runs in the 5th and put the game away.

Jack Troutman doubled for one of his 2 hits for the Tigers, Ty Nissen and Colby Christensen each had a hit, Austin Fineran took the loss going 4 2/3 innings, allowing 8 hits and 7 earned runs while striking out 3.

The loss drops Carroll to 10-8 overall and 4-7 in the Raccoon River Conference. They host Bondurant Farrar on Wednesday.

A match-up of two ranked teams went the way of the home team as the Crusaders left the bases loaded in the 7th inning. The Crusaders looked in good shape in the 7th scoring a run with no outs, making it a one run game. They would load the bases with a walk but weren’t able to come up with the hit that would tie the game. A soft liner to the pitcher and a strikeout put the Crusaders in a troubled spot. a ground ball to the shortstop who flipped it to 3rd base for the force out ended the game. CAM Anita scored  a run in each of the first two innings to take the early lead but Coon Rapids Bayard scored twice in the 3rd to tie it. The Cougars responded in the 4th with a pair of runs to go up 4-2. The game stayed that way until the 7th.

Coon Rapids Bayard finished with 2 hits with Josh Ramirez knocking in a run with a single and Lance Clayburg singling. Preston McAlister added a pair of RBI. Quentin Culbertson pitched well going 5 innings but took the loss, Quentin Culbertson and Kolby Culbertson combined to allow 10 hits while striking out 10 and walking 3.

The loss drops the 8th ranked Crusaders to 16-5 overall and 10-3 in the Rolling Valley Conference. They are a 1/2 game behind CAM Anita in the conference race. The Crusaders host Woodbine on Wednesday and the Tigers are 1/2 game behind Coon Rapids Bayard in the conference.

Ar-We-Va had two big innings and ended up needing them both as Boyer Valley rallied in the 7th and had the tying run at 1st base. The Rockets used a couple Boyer Valley errors along with 3 hits to score 5-runs in the 1st inning. Cooper Kock, Luke Smith and Braeden Kirsch all had singles in the 1st inning with Kock and Kirsch having RBI. Ar-We-Va scored 6 times in the first two innings with only one of the runs earned. Boyer Valley had 4 errors early but settled down after that and only had 2 errors the rest of the game. The Bulldogs got back into the game in the 4th with a 3-run home run by Jaiden Ten Eyck, making it 6-4. It stayed that way until the 6th when Ar-We-Va took advantage of the pitching change and scored 6-runs with the big hit coming from Conner Kirsch who had an 2-run double. Cooper Kock and Jeffrey Molina also had RBI in the inning as Ar-We-Va took a 12-4 lead into the 7th.  The Bulldogs got their first batter in the 7th on with a dropped third strike. After a flyout to left the Bulldogs next four batters scored. Conner Kirsch who made the start and moved to shortstop in the 4th inning came back in to pitch and was able to get a strikeout to end the game with runners on 1st and 2nd.

The Rockets finished with 12 hits with Cooper Kock singling 3 times and driving in a pair of runs. Conner Kirsch had a double and 2 RBI. Will Ragaller scored 3 times on 2 hits and Luke Smith scored twice. Conner Kirsch get the win going 3 innings, allowing 5 hits and 5 earned runs with 5 walks and 3 hit-by-pitch.

The Rockets travel to Exira-EHK on Wednesday. They improved to 8-4 overall and 7-4 in the Rolling Valley Conference.

South Central Calhoun grabbed 11 hits in their first win of the season. They rolled early at Storm Lake St Mary’s scoring a run in the 1st and then 3-runs in the 3rd inning. The big inning came in the top 5th when they scored 5 times. The defense had their best performance of the season, backing a great pitching performance by Zach Trott. The Titans had 3 errors but allowed only 1 unearned run in the 3rd inning.

There were four players with two or more hits with Ayden Toms leading the way with 3 hits, a double and a RBI. Evan Jacobs added a pair of hits with a double, Brennan Holder had 2 hits and scored twice and Gavin Batta added 2 hits, a triple, 3 RBI and scored twice. Zach Trott got the win, allowing just 4 hits and no earned runs in 5 innings. He struck out2 but only walked 2.

The win moves the Titans to 1-14 overall and 1-7 in the Twin Lakes Conference. They head to Glidden Ralston on Tuesday.

IKM-Manning hung tough on the road until late, leading 2-1 heading into the 4th inning. Treynor grabbed their first lead with a 2-run bottom 4th and then added 5-runs in the 5th to open it up. The Wolves scored a run in the 1st and 3rd innings on a home run by Max Nielsen and a double by Connor Richards.

Max Nielsen hit a solo home run as one of the four hits by the Wolves. Connor Richards doubled with an RBI, Treyton Barry and Brody Blom both had a base hit.

The loss drops IKM-Manning to 4-13 overall and 3-11 in the Western Iowa Conference. They host Audubon on Tuesday.

Glidden Ralston got ahead of hitters on Monday night but couldn’t get the outs when they needed them allowing 15 walks to fall  in 5 innings. The Spartans put the game away with a 8-run 4th inning. The loss drops Glidden Ralston to 1-11 overall and 1-10 in the Rolling Valley Conference.

Jackson Sklenar had the lone hit for the Wildcats. Mark Lensch scored their only run in the 3rd inning and Caden Smith was hit-by-a-pitch.

The Wildcats will host South Central Calhoun on Tuesday.

East Sac was in the game until an 8-run 6th inning ended the game. The Raiders allowed single runs in the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th innings but were playing well. The offense struggled and finished with 2 hits. The loss drops the Raiders to 2-10 overall and 1-7 in the Twin Lakes Conference.

Karter Ludwig and Caleb Villhauer each had base hits.

The Raiders are off until they host Manson NW Webster on Wednesday.

Audubon was able to get runners on base earning 6 walks but they weren’t able to get hits with those runners on base, finishing with just 1 hit. They made nice contact but it was right at the defense. LoMa was able to find creases and hit a few bloopers that dropped and finished with 6 hits. They used that to score four runs in the 1st inning and two more runs in the 5th.

Gavin Larsen had the lone hit in the loss. Joel Klocke walked twice. Aiden Alt went 1 1/3 innings allowing 2 earned runs while Gavin Larsen took the loss going 3 innings with 5 hits and 4 earned runs.

The Wheelers dropped their 8th straight and sit 6-11 overall and 5-9 in the Western Iowa Conference. They travel to IKM-Manning on Tuesday.
