Kuemper struck first against Newell Fonda on a double steal as Hailey Ostrander stole home as Brianna Lux got in a run down between 1st and 2nd base. Newell Fonda responded in the bottom 1st with 8-runs and didn’t look back. Kuemper added a run in the 3rd inning but was only able to muster 4 hits and fell in the semifinals.

Hailey Ostrander, Brianna Lux and Kenzie Schon and Kyndal Hilgenberg each had base hits in the lose with Lux and Hilgenberg having RBI and Ostrander and Hilgenberg scoring the runs.

Both teams hit the ball well as Kuemper used a big 7th inning to pull away late and finish 3rd at the OA-BCIG Tournament. The Knights had three  hits, two walks and were helped by a Raider error as they scored 5 times in the 7th. The big his was a 2-run single by Kyndal Hilgenberg that blew the game open. East Sac had rallied from down 5-0 to tie the game with a run in the 4th, two more in the 5th and a run again in the 6th. Kuemper answered in the 7th.

Both teams finished with 12 hits. Kyndal Hilgenber led Kuemper with 4 hits including a pair of doubles and 2 RBI. Brianna Lux and Kenadee Loew each had 2 hits and Loew added an pair of RBI. Jordan Schwabe scored twice as did Loew. Chloe Venteicher got the win going 4 2/3 innings, giving up 4 earned runs with 3 strikeouts. Emersyn Mack paced East Sac with 3 hits, Mary Bontrager, Laryn Sharp, Maci Gustavson and Aleisha Thayer all finished with 2 hits. Bontrager and Gustavson both doubled.

Kuemper will host Creston Monday morning for a varsity doubleheader and East Sac heads to Newell Fonda on Monday.

East Sac finished with seven hits but most of the hits came early as Roland Story pulled away at the end to advance into the championship game. The Raiders scored a pair of runs in both the 1st and 2nd inning and added their final run in the 4th inning to trail 6-5. Roland Story scored a run in the 6th and two more in the 7th to extend the lead.

Abby Schueneman paced the Raiders with 2 hits and scored twice. Mary Bontrager had a team high 2 RBI. Bree Boeckman drove in a run and scored and Meredith Brown and Emersyn Mack each had an RBI.

Brielle Hinners homered as the Carroll offense racked up 17 hits. Hinners home run was one of the highlights as Carroll had five players with multi-hit games including three players with three hits. Carroll scored in every inning but the 4th and put the game away with a run in the 6th inning. Camryn Schable was outstanding in the circle and the Tiger defense was sharp behind her.

Shay Sinnard, Chloe Gallegos and Ava Gross all had 3 hits in the win. Sinnard scored twice while Gallegos doubled and drove in a pair of runs. Gross finished with 2 RBI and scored once. Josie Ayala had two hits and two runs-batted-in. Camryn Schable was outstanding in the circle giving up just 1 hit while striking out 7 and she had a pair of hits at the plate. Brielle Hinners hit a home run. Macie Kennebeck and Brenna Goins each scored twice.

Carroll Vs Denison Schleswig

A big 1st inning put the Tigers in a hole they didn’t get dug out of. Denison Schleswig scored 5-runs and were able to score with the Tigers the rest of the game. Carroll scored in every inning  but were only able to muster a run in those innings except the 5th when they scored 2 runs. The Monarchs also scored  in every inning including adding a pair of runs in the 3rd.

Carroll finished with 11 hits including a home run from Josie Ayala who finished with 3 hits and scored 3 times. Chloe Gallegos  and Averi Burke each had a pair of hits and both doubled and had an RBI, Burke also scored a run. Gabby Olberding also doubled and Brielle Hinners had an RBI.

The Tigers host Winterset on Monday. They enter the game 9-11.
