The weather played a key role in this game late as both teams struggled to grip the ball in the light mist along with windy and cold conditions. The loss drops Carroll to 1-3 overall and 0-3 in the Raccoon River Conference.

Tyler Smith put Carroll up in the 2nd inning with a 2-run single. North Polk scored top 3rd by Colby Christensen had an RBI double in the bottom 3rd to put Carroll up 3-1 heading into the 4th inning. North Polk bats woke up in the 4th and Carroll began to struggle with the conditions. The Comets  scored 3-runs in the 4th inning to go ahead 4-3. They added 3 more runs in the 5th, 6 runs in the 6th and capped the win with 3 more in the 7th. Carroll had been playing well on defense but had 6 errors over the last 3 innings leading to 12 of North Polk runs.

Carroll attempted to rally late, scoring 4-runs in the 7th. The game ended with the bases loaded.

Colby Christensen, Jack Troutman and Treyton Goins all had 2 hits. Christensen added a pair of RBI as did Tyler Smith. Treyton Goins scored 3 times. Carroll had 10 hits and had 6 RBI in their 10 runs scored.

The Tigers head to Woodward Granger on Friday with varsity scheduled to start around 7:00.

It has been a busy week South Central Calhoun, having played 3 games in the first 4 days of the week. The Titans fell to 0-3 on the season and sit 0-1 in the Twin Lakes Conference. The game slipped away in the 5th inning when the Jaguars scored 7 times to blow open a 6-3 game. The Titans had just scored 3 times in the 4th inning when Brody Stauter, Chance Roeder and Zach Trott all scored and Brodie Voith drove in a run.

South Central Calhoun finished the game with six hits, all of them were singles. They only walked once and were hit by a pitch one time. They did a nice job putting the bat on the ball with only three strikeouts.

Brody Stauter had two of the teams hits with Chance Roeder, Gavin Batta, Zach Trott and Brodie Voith all having a hit. Batta threw 4 innings allowing 7 hits and 3 earned runs.

The Titans are back in action on Friday when they host Pocahontas Area.

Tri Center At IKM-Manning

IKM-Manning dropped to 0-2 overall and 0-2 in the Western Iowa Conference as Tri Center exploded for 10 runs in the 4th inning to end the game. The Wolves picked up 1 hit in the loss. Tri Center got the bats going in the 2nd inning scoring 5 runs, they added 5 more in the 3rd before ending the game in the 4th.

Brody Blom picked up the lone hit for IKM-Manning.

The Wolves will look to rebound Friday At Missouri Valley.
