St. Anthony Foundation Awards Record Amount For Scholarships For 2021

The St. Anthony Foundation has announced they have awarded more than $50,000 in scholarships to 40 students in west central Iowa who are pursuing careers in the health care field. Students in the six-county region of Carroll, Audubon, Calhoun, Crawford, Greene and Sac received the funding thanks to the generosity of donors, who made it possible for a record distribution total this year. Since its inception in 2003, more than $205,000 has gone to 276 students, helping them fund their healthcare education. “For St. Anthony, it is an honor to award our scholarships to deserving students in west central Iowa each year. We do it with the goal of encouraging their continued education in health care,” says St. Anthony Development Director, Trish Roberts. “We are grateful to the families and donors who make these scholarships a reality, often through endowed gifts, to the St. Anthony Foundation Healthcare Scholarship. This allows us to invest in future generations of health care professionals who we hope will live and serve in our local communities.” Scholarship applications are made available to area students in January of each year at high schools, Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) and on the St. Anthony website. Applications are then reviewed by an independent committee who makes recommendations. More information is also available by emailing foundation@stanthonyhospital.org.  A full listing of scholarship recipients can be found below.
