Girls Tennis Results for Friday, May 21st, 2021

Kuemper and Audubon at Regional Tournament

 

Kuemper and Audubon both competed in their regional tournament Friday and both won some good matches. 

 

Vanessa Breedlove of Kuemper advanced to the quarter final round as she won her first round match 6-1, 6-1. She was defeated in the quarter final round as she was defeated 6-5, 6-1. Jordan Schwabe individually won her first two matches on the day, winning 6-1, 6-1 and 6-4, 6-4 respectively.

In the semifinal round, she’d fall 6-4, 6-4 and played for a chance to finish third in the tournament. Schwabe ultimately defeated her third round consolation match opponent, winning 6-2, 6-1. Keziah Janssen and Sophie Rohe performed well for Kuemper also. They’d win their first round match 6-3, 6-3, and their semifinal match winning 6-1, 7-5. In the semifinals, Janssen and Rohe dropped the match 6-1, 6-4 and will play their third round consolation match next week. Samantha Tidgren and Alyssa Brant would also win their first and second round matches, winning 6-4, 6-0, and 6-3, 7-5 respectively. Tidgren and Brant were defeated in the semifinal round 6-4, 7-5 and will play their teammates Janssen and Rohe in the third place consolation round next week.

 

For Audubon, Kya Petersen and Aleah Hermansen won their first round match 6-1, 6-1, dropping one match 6-3. Petersen and Harmansen would fall to Keziah Janssen and Sophie Rohe of Kuemper 6-1, 7-5 in the quarter finals. Jill Denny was unable to win her preliminary match, she fell 6-3, 6-1, winning one set 7-5. Sophia Sebetka fell in her first round match 6-0. 

 

Kuemper’s Tennis Team will take on Union Community on Saturday, May 22nd at Marshalltown in the team regional final match.
