East Sac at Treynor Tournament

East Sac was in action Saturday as they traveled to compete in the Treynor Tournament. East Sac took on Underwood and Missouri Valley in their matches. 

In their match against Underwood, East Sac allowed a goal to be scored by Underwood, making it 1-0. The Raiders defended the ball well in the first half. Only allowing that one goal. Underwood scored twice more in the second half and ultimately  defeated East Sac by a final score of 3-0. Luke Wernimont defended the net well, recording 5 saves. 

Against Missouri Valley, East Sac was able to get on the board and tie up the contest in the first half at 1-1. Unfortunately, Missouri Valley pushed ahead scoring two goals and ran away with a 3-1 victory. Brett Thayer was the East Sac player to score. He was assisted by Cole Babe. Luke Wernimont recorded six saves in the contest.

Kuemper at West Central Valley Tournament

The Kuemper Knights had a successful day Saturday at the West Central Valley tournament where they won both their games. Kuemper took on Van Meter and West Central Valley. 

In their match against Van Meter, the Knights got on the board thanks to John Mayhall, assisted by Simon Wagner. Kuemper controlled the ball well in this contest as they did not allow Van Meter to score a goal. Noah Bauer in the match had two saves. 

Kuemper then took on West Central Valley where they were pushed to the limit. Both teams were unable to score in regulation so both attempted penalty kicks. Noah Bauer was able to save one penalty kick, but West Central Valley made four. Kuemper made all five of their penalty kicks, coming from Simon Wagner, John Mayhall, Sam Steinkamp, Max Burnett, and Isaac Evans. West Central Valley was stopped short of victory thanks to Bauer’s save, giving Kuemper the win via penalty kicks 5-4.
