Carroll Girls Win Tournament, Kuemper, SCC and ESC Golf Also In Action on Saturday

Carroll At Kuemper Invitational

Carroll High grabbed a really nice team win on Saturday on a day when the temperatures were in the 80’s and the wins were in the 40’s. Players and coaches alike were worn out after the round which makes Carroll day even more impressive. They had three players finish in the top 5 and all six girls had solid rounds. Kuemper battled the wind as well and continued to show improvement which is what the girls say their goal is this season. Abby Nees of Kuemper felt she drove the ball well in the wind but her chipping struggled some and the wind also played tricks on a lot of the putts for everyone. Laura Sweeney of Carroll struggled on her 1st 9 holes but got on a roll the back 9 and finished that with a 37.

Sweeney led Carroll High and was the overall champion shooting a 87 on the day. Grace Pettitt of Carroll added a 94 to finish 3rd, Abby Danner had a really strong round and could be poised for a nice late season run took 5th place with a 101. Erin Winker also had a solid round for Carroll shooting a 106. Ashlee Danner added a 116 and Delaney Schurke finished with a 122.

Kenna Soppe of Kuemper continues to be their most consistent player and shot a 108 followed by Abby Nees with a 123, Kara Daniel a 130 and Grace Tigges a 131.
