A Des Moines man was arrested on an outstanding warrant after being reported for taking a vehicle without permission. The Jefferson Police Department was notified at approximately 8:13 a.m. Thursday that a vehicle was missing from the Super 8 hotel. The woman stated a male staying with her had taken the vehicle. Officers located it and the male, 34-year-old Rodney Charles Sheffield, a short time later and learned he was wanted on an active arrest warrant from Polk County for first-degree harassment. Sheffield was taken into custody and transported to Polk County and the vehicle returned to the owner.
