A Coon Rapids man accused of illegally possessing firearms filed his not guilty plea last week to the charge levied against him in District Court for Carroll County. According to court records, 62-year-old Marvin Lee Krieger faces a single count of control of a firearm and ammunition by a felon, a class D felony. Krieger was arrested on March 17 by the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office following an investigation. Authorities say they located a total of four firearms, two of which were loaded, during a Jan. 8 search warrant executed at his home in the 33000 block of 290th Street. A judge signed an order following Krieger’s not guilty plea scheduling his trial to begin on Tuesday, June 1 with a pretrial conference on May 27. Krieger faces a maximum penalty of up to five years in prison and $7,500 in fines if found guilty of the charge.
