CCSD School Board To Review Return To Learn Plan And Sharing Agreements At Thursday’s Meeting

The Carroll Community School District (CCSD) Board of Education will convene tomorrow (Thursday) evening for their April meeting. The first item of business on the agenda is a discussion on the district’s Return to Learn plan. Superintendent, Dr. Casey Berlau, says it has been several months since the board last reviewed their COVID-19 protocols.

Berlau says students and staff will likely close out the school year with essentially the same mitigation practices in place, but the board will have the final say on any changes. It is not clear at this time if protocols will still be necessary heading into the 2021-22 school year with the decision on that expected to occur over the summer break. Principals will then provide updates on the happenings within their respective buildings before the board reviews and considers approval of sharing agreements with several nearby schools.

School officials will then formally approve the list of students who have met the requirements to graduate in May and review board policy revisions. Berlau says they will also be looking at their staffing plan for the 2021-22 school year. The final major item on the agenda will be reports from Director of Business Affairs, Gary Bengtson, including a review of the district’s Fiscal Year (FY) 2020 audit.

The Thursday, April 22 meeting begins at 5:30 p.m. in the Adams Elementary School board conference room. The proceedings will be livestreamed with details on how to attend remotely and the full agenda included below.
