The Carroll Community School District (CCSD) Board of Education has approved the hire of Karinne Tharaldson as the district’s director of teaching and learning. Tharaldson will move into her new role at the start of Fiscal Year (FY) 2022, which begins July 1, 2021. Theraldson earned her bachelor’s degrees in English and Secondary Education from the University of Iowa and master’s degree from Western Illinois University in Educational Administration. Prior to accepting the offer in Carroll, she worked as a school improvement administrator for the Mississippi Bend Area Education Agency based in Bettendorf. Tharldson will be tasked with maintaining staff and curriculum development, such as implementing research-based teaching practices, providing feedback to instructors, incorporating new educational programs and more once she begins.
