The Carroll Tigers girls golf team started off their spring season with a great team win against Greene County on Monday. The Tigers would end up with a team score of 212, winning by a large margin against Greene County, who scored 263 team points. Carroll’s Grace Pettit would lead the way for the tigers with a score of 44 and walked away as the medalist for this meet. Both Erin Winker and Ashlee Danner would score 55 at this meet, only three strokes shy of being reserve medalist.

Coon Rapids Bayard and Glidden-Ralston at Rolling Valley Conference Meet

The Coon Rapids-Bayard and Glidden Ralston girls golf teams were in action Monday during their first golf meet of the spring season. The Crusaders would finish second in team standings with a score of 215, three strokes behind meet champions Boyer Valley, who finished with 212. Glidden-Ralston would finish in last place with a team score of 297.

 

Alaya Betts of Coon Rapids-Bayard would lead her team with a score of 50. Betts would grab bogies on holes two, five, six, and would grab herself a par on hole nine. Emma Hart and Haley Halbur were close behind with a tied score of 53. Hart would struggle to start with a quadruple bogey at hole one, but got better with a par on holes five and nine. Halbur was able to have good success on holes three and four with a bogey and par respectively, but she was five over on hole nine, getting a 53 on her day.

 

Glidden Ralston would finish in 5th place as a team with a score of 297 and would see one of their players, Kim Daily, nab a reserve medalist honor at the end of the day. Daily worst score on the day was a double bogey which she had on holes one, three, six, seven, and eight. Daily’s score of 49 was only one stroke short of getting herself a medal, which went to Boyer Valley’s Alexi Miller who scored 48.
