A Wall Lake housing project was recently recognized by the Iowa Finance Authority during the annual HousingIowa Awards. The Region XII Council of Governments project, Summit Ridge Apartments, was designed and constructed for seniors in response to a demonstrated community need. They received the Special Needs Development award for the five new rental units that include a duplex and a triplex. Five other awards were presented to projects in Grundy Center, Dubuque and Iowa City as well as to Senator Mark Lofgren of Muscatine who was named the Legislative Friend of Housing and Sister Mary Ann Vogel from the Congregation of the Humility of Mary in Davenport as the Kay Anderson Friend of Iowa for her efforts to help end homelessness in her community for more than 30 years.
