A Coon Rapids man is scheduled to appear in Carroll County District Court next week on a charge of dominion or control of an offensive weapon by a felon. The class D felony charge against 61-year-old Marvin Lee Krieger stems from an investigation by the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office into a Dec. 31, 2020 report. A Jan. 8 search of his residence located at least four firearms, two of them loaded. Krieger is barred from possessing guns in Iowa due to a 1992 conviction for second-degree arson, a class C felony. His initial appearance is slated for Thursday, March 25. If convicted, Krieger faces a maximum penalty of up to five years in prison and $7,500 in fines.
