Representative Best Joins Rest Of House In Unanimous Vote For Pandemic Tax Relief Bill

Last week, Iowa House District 12 Representative, Brian Best, voted in support of a COVID-19 relief package for Iowans. This legislation will provide $128 million in tax relief to Iowa taxpayers and businesses impacted by the coronavirus through exemption of pandemic-related grants and unemployment benefits from state income tax. Republican Representative from Bondurant, Brian Lohse, managed the legislation. “We realize that there is probably never going to be a way to make whole all of those affected financially by the COVID-19 pandemic,” Lohse says. “But this will provide meaningful COVID relief to Iowa taxpayers and business in as equitable of a way as possible.” Speaker of the House, Pat Grassley, agrees. “With this legislation, Iowa House Republicans are delivering on yet another promise made to Iowans on the campaign trail.” The bill passed the House unanimously at 94 votes in favor.
