The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office was called in to investigate a single-vehicle accident after the fact on Thursday morning. The office was contacted at about 1:20 p.m. by the parents of a 16-year-old male from Willey who said their son had told them he had gone into the ditch on his way to school that morning. Authorities were dispatched to Carroll High School, where the driver was located at that time. The 2011 Chevrolet Silverado was inspected and damage, estimated at $3,000, was found to the windshield and rear window as well as the rear bumper and receiver hitch. The driver said he was northbound on Olympic Avenue near 215th Street, to the southeast of Carroll, when he lost control and entered the east ditch.
