Another round of dangerous winter weather is bearing down on the region, resulting in the National Weather Service issuing winter weather advisories and blizzard warnings through tomorrow (Thursday) evening and possibly beyond. Freezing rain, snow and winds anticipated to gust up to 45 miles per hour are being forecast with the possibility of roads flash freezing and drifts forming quickly. Carroll County Sheriff, Ken Pingrey, is issuing another warning to travelers, cautioning that if the predicted conditions do materialize, there will likely be tow bans, state and county plows may be pulled off roadways and the Sheriff’s Office will not be able to respond to any calls until conditions improve. “If you choose to travel and get stuck, wreck, etc.,” Pingrey says, “you will be on your own.” He is urging all travelers to plan ahead so they do not become stranded, or worse.
