IKM-Manning 33

Audubon hit 6-3’s in the 1st half and rallied from down 11-5 at the end of the 1st quarter to take a 2 point lead at half. The Wolves grabbed a quick lead early in the 3rd on a 3 from Connor Keller but Gavin Smith answered on the other end and Audubon would extend the lead to as many as 7. IKM-Manning wasn’t going to go away, the Wolves rallied and tied the game when Hunter Smith hit Luke Ramsey who nailed a 3 tying the game at 33. Gavin Smith again puled the Wheelers back ahead with a bucket on the other end and the Whelers were able to hit a few free throws down the stretch. Audubon did a nice job in the 2nd half and especially the 4th quarter spreading the floor and being patient on offense. Several times they were able to get some easy buckets against the Wolves who had to go man to man.

Gavin Smith finished with a team high 10 points for Audubon to go with 7 rebounds, Ethan Klocke and Carson Bauer each hit 3-3’s and had 9 points. Klocke also did an outstanding job defensively against Kyler Rasmussen which was a key to the Wheelers holding IKM-Manning to 12 points in the 2nd half.

Pocahontas Area At East Sac

East Sac 92

Pocahontas Area 57

Camden Schroeder set a new single game scoring record on Tuesday hitting on 23 of 29 shots including 7 of 11 from three point range. He finished with 53 points, two more points than Reed Tellinghuisen scored in in 2013 when the junior went off for 51 points. The Raiders hit 7-3’s in the 1st quarter with Dylan Meredith knocking down a couple early and Schroeder finishing the quarter with four. Schroeder stayed warm in the 2nd quarter and had 25 points in the 1st half. He had to deal with the Indians face guarding him all game and most of the game had a 2nd defender running at him but it didn’t matter. He continued to pour in the points in the 2nd half and did it from deep, mid-range and was able to attack the rim. The oddest stat could be that he didn’t attempt a free throw. Schroeder 53 points in the highest point total in Iowa High School basketball this season.  East Sac was up by 26 at half. They would extend the lead in the 3rd quarter but Pocahontas Area did shoot the ball better in the 2nd half.

Camden Schroeder had a game high 53 points but also had 14 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 blocks. He received help from Joel Halbur with 8 assists and Dylan Meredith who had a career high 11 points on 3-3 from 3 point range.
