The Wolves grabbed a quick lead early in the 3rd on a 3 from Connor Keller but Gavin Smith answered on the other end and Audubon would extend the lead to as many as 7. IKM-Manning wasn’t going to go away, the Wolves rallied and tied the game when Hunter Smith hit Luke Ramsey who nailed a 3 tying the game at 33. Pocahontas Area 57
Camden Schroeder set a new single game scoring record on Tuesday hitting on 23 of 29 shots including 7 of 11 from three point range. He finished with 53 points, two more points than Reed Tellinghuisen scored in in 2013 when the junior went off for 51 points. The Raiders hit 7-3’s in the 1st quarter with Dylan Meredith knocking down a couple early and Schroeder finishing the quarter with four. Schroeder stayed warm in the 2nd quarter and had 25 points in the 1st half. He had to deal with the Indians face guarding him all game and most of the game had a 2nd defender running at him but it didn’t matter. He continued to pour in the points in the 2nd half and did it from deep, mid-range and was able to attack the rim. The oddest stat could be that he didn’t attempt a free throw. Schroeder 53 points in the highest point total in Iowa High School basketball this season. East Sac was up by 26 at half. They would extend the lead in the 3rd quarter but Pocahontas Area did shoot the ball better in the 2nd half.
Camden Schroeder had a game high 53 points but also had 14 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 blocks. He received help from Joel Halbur with 8 assists and Dylan Meredith who had a career high 11 points on 3-3 from 3 point range.
