Additional Details Released On Bomb Threat Found Friday At Carroll Middle School

Carroll Police Chief, Brad Burke, says an 11-year-old male suspect was taken into custody on Friday afternoon after his department received a call from the Carroll Middle School about a bomb threat.

Burke says through interviews, they learned there was no threat at the school and no incendiary device was on the premises. However, when a threat like this comes in, it needs to be taken very seriously.

The name of the suspect is not released because they are a juvenile and Burke says the case will be transferred to the juvenile courts.

Burke says there are specific steps the department follows when they receive a call with this type of threat.

The Carroll Middle School has a comprehensive camera system and they were able to monitor the movements of the student suspect and determine if there was any other suspicious activity. The school administration isolated the student immediately, viewed the video footage and notified the authorities and the parents. Burke believes the school will follow up with disciplinary action of their own.
