Carroll PD Called To Four Accidents Over The Weekend

Carroll Officers responded to four accidents over the weekend, two resulting in functional damage and two disabling. The first call came in at 12:19 p.m. Friday and officers responded to the intersection of U.S. Highway 30 and Monterey Drive. Forty-three-year-old Aguet Puol of Carroll was eastbound on 30 in a 2009 Dodge Journey, attempting to make a left turn onto Monterey. Seventy-one-year-old Linnet Nissen of Manning was also eastbound in a 2015 Chevrolet Equinox and was changing lanes to turn left onto Monterey. Nissen said she did not see the Puol vehicle and struck it on the passenger side and was subsequently charged with failure to maintain control. The second accident was at approximately 1:54 p.m. in the 500 block of N. Adams Street. Sixty-eight-year-old Joann Breyfogle of Alta was attempting to park a 2006 Mercury Milan and hit the accelerator instead of the brake, jumped the curb, and hit a handicap parking sign and the exterior wall of the Blush Boutique. The building sustained minimal damage. On Saturday, an accident was reported at approximately 5:39 p.m. in the 900 block of N. West Street. Thirty-six-year-old Jesse Tatman of Carroll was southbound on West in a 2000 Nissan Sentra when she struck a parked 2015 Chevrolet Cruze and a 2013 Honda Accord, causing disabling damage to the Sentra and Accord and functional damage to the Cruze. Tatman was cited for striking unattended vehicles. The final report was received at 6:51 p.m. Saturday at 2nd and East Streets. Thirty-seven-year-old Jerry Smith of Carroll was eastbound on 2nd in a 2008 Ford Taurus and struck a parked 2010 Buick Enclave. There was disabling damage to the Smith vehicle and he was cited for striking an unattended vehicle and failure to have insurance.
