In celebrating the turn of the calendar last January to 2020, the Friends of Kuemper Ball were excited to announce a complimentary theme, “The Roaring Twenties.” Little did they know at that time how much different their annual combination fundraiser/celebration would turn out to be. Undaunted by changes necessitated by the worldwide pandemic, the co-chairs got busy planning for their first ever virtual ball and still raised more than $535,000 to fund teacher salary enhancements, capital projects, technology initiatives and much more. And now, as we enter into a new year, co-chairs of the Friends of Kuemper Ball have organized a reveal next Wednesday, Jan. 13, to announce the theme for their 2021 event. Tony and Gina Badding, Nick and Lisa Bowdish, James and Susie Heiliger and Jon and Michelle Heim will host the kick-off at 6 p.m. at the Santa Maria Winery. Organizers will again be selling the popular ag and vehicle raffle tickets. Tickets for the vehicle raffle remain at $100 each and the ag raffle at $50 each. Participants must be 18 years old to enter and tickets are available through any of the ball chairs, at the Kuemper Alumni office, Kuemper Central Office and the High School main office.
