The Jefferson Police Department is investigating a suspected hit-and-run accident reported Wednesday in Jefferson. At approximately 2:45 p.m Jefferson resident, Mike Coil, contacted law enforcement to report his 2004 Dodge Ram pickup truck, which had been parked overnight in the 100 block of East Vest Street, had been sideswiped by a passing vehicle. Damage to Coil’s truck is estimated at $500. An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
