No Injuries But Portable Stop Light Damaged In Guthrie Center Accident

A Van Horne woman was uninjured after losing control and striking a portable stop light Thursday in Guthrie Center. The Guthrie County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene at approximately 12:30 p.m. Twenty-nine-year-old Angelia Mae McAtee was traveling westbound on Iowa Highway 44, near N. 8th Street, through a one-lane construction zone when she hit a bump. She told authorities the suspension on the 1999 Pontiac Grand Prix she was driving was poor and the jolt caused her vehicle to shift to the right and hit the portable stop light. There was an estimated $1,000 in damage to the Pontiac and $5,000 in damage to the stop light.
