A Jefferson man was taken into custody early Sunday morning after a witness reported he appeared to be unconscious behind the wheel of a running vehicle. The Jefferson Police Department was dispatched to the intersection of Westwood Drive and South Grimmell Road at approximately 2:48 a.m. where a vehicle was found stopped in the traveled portion of the roadway. Their investigation led to the arrest of 52-year-old Dale Lee Spaulding for first-offense operating while intoxicated, a serious misdemeanor. He was transported to the Greene County Law Enforcement Center and later released on his own recognizance.
