The Iowa Department of Natural Resources (DNR) will be hosting a free virtual social hour for hunters with little to no experience or those who would like to find out more about hunting in Iowa. “If you haven’t hunted in a couple of years but would like to get back afield, or maybe never hunted but always wanted to learn more, this is the event for you,” says Jamie Cook, program coordinator with the DNR. The online forum will begin at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 19 and will include discussions with DNR staff. “This is a laid-back, family-friendly event [that] will showcase opportunities to get involved in other outdoor recreational pursuits, such as shooting sports and fishing,” Cook says. The course is designed for participants who are 16 and older, but those under 16 can participate as long as they are doing so with an adult. Space is limited and registration is requested. This can be done by following the link included below.
