Templeton Rye has been named the latest recipient of the Carroll Area Development Corporation’s (CADC) Spirit of Excellence Award. This recognition is presented to Carroll County businesses who have shown outstanding dedication to the region by growing the property tax base and creating quality jobs. CADC Board Member, Paul Milligan presented the award Wednesday to Co-founder, Keith Kerkhoff, and Hospitality Manager, Chase Prebeck. Milligan says Templeton Rye’s recent expansion is a textbook example of what their selection committee looks for from potential recipients.
According to the CADC, Templeton Rye supports the local economy by attracting visitors to their facility, purchasing corn for their whiskeys from local farmers and repurposing the spent grain as feed for cattle producers in the region. The company recently showed its commitment to the community and the state by donating reverse-osmosis water to the State of Iowa for hand sanitizer production near the beginning of the pandemic. Kerkhoff says it is an honor for the company to be recognized for their recent growth and success.
Templeton Rye was also presented the 2019 Iowa Job Honor Award for their efforts to hire disadvantaged candidates and create opportunities for these individuals and their communities. Templeton Rye joins Waspy’s Truck Stop owners, the Handlos family, and Landus Cooperative as the most recent CADC Spirit of Excellence Award recipients.
